Perthshire is golfing country, with over 60 courses within an hours drive, including Carnoustie, Gleneagles and St Andrews. The area is also renowned for its salmon and trout fishing, with the River Tay being one of Europe's principal salmon rivers.
If you don't want to fish or play golf there are many beautiful glens, lochs and mountains close by, wildlife reservations and bird sanctuaries within easy reach, numerous distilleries for the whiskey lovers and plenty of historic and picturesque castles to visit. Highland Perthshire is on our doorstep and is a breath-taking drive to take, either up the A93 towards Braemar or across to Dunkeld and up the A9 towards the north.
